Junior Varsity Vet Camp (Ages 8-11) from July 30th thru August 1st from 9 AM to 3 PM
 
Topics to be covered include but are not limited to:
 
  • Safety when working with Horses, Cows, Goats and Sheep
  • Feeding and Care of Horses, Cows, Goats and Sheep
  • Physical Examinations of Horses, Cows, Goats and Sheep
  • Organ Systems-Digestive, Respiratory, Circulatory and Neurological
  • Ophthalmology
  • Common Problems and Treatments
 
Varsity Vet Camp (ages 12-18) from August 4th to August 8th from 9 AM to 3 PM
 
Topics to be covered include but are not limited to:
 
  • Safety when working with Horses, Cows, Goats, Sheep, Dogs and Cats
  • Feeding and Care of Horses, Cows, Goats and Sheep
  • Physical Restraint of Horses, Goats, Sheep, Calves, Dogs and Cats when assisting during examinations
  • Physical Examinations of Horses, Cows, Goats and Sheep
  • Equine Digestive System:  Organs, Specific Functions, Examination, Types of Colic and Treatments
  • Equine Respiratory System:  Organs, Functions, Examinations, Common Respiratory Pathogens and Disease, and Treatments
  • Equine Cardiovascular System:  Organs, Functions, Examinations, Common Heart Problems and Treatments
  • Equine Ophthalmology:  Organs, Functions, Examination, Common Eye Problems and Treatments
  • Equine Lameness:  Lameness Examinations, Diagnostic Procedures and Treatments
  • Equine Wound Assessment:  Examination, Cleaning, Preparation, Suturing, and Bandaging
  • Classifications of Disease:  Bacterial, Viral, Fungal, Neoplasia, Metabolic, Neurological
  • Medications:  Types, Uses, Antibiotic Resistance
